Example Tour

The best way to illustrate the scope and range of these tours is to describe a seven night tour in Scotland, undertaken a year or two ago.

Day 1

The group arrive at Aberdeen airport to be met by Gavin with coach.They are taken to Blackhills near Elgin. Lunch at Blackhills and a walk conducted by the owner round his world renowned Rhododendron garden. Coach to Inverness and accommodation in guest houses on the banks of the River Ness.

Day 2

To-day we travel north westwards to the famous Inverewe Garden, where we lunch in the restaurant there.
A National Trust for Scotland guide conducts us round the garden so that we do not miss any important features of this large garden.

Even the experts are sometimes baffled!

We return to Inverness passing through some of Scotland's finest scenery,taking in another private garden on the way. In the evening The Inverness Horticultural Society members entertain the group for dinner and garden chat.

Day 3

Visit a large private garden near Inverness, featuring mature Rhododendrons, Meconopsis and many other interesting trees shrubs and perennials, all in a very fine setting.


An East Coast Garden
After this we strike out south westward to the garden of Attadale House, a large and recently restored garden. We have lunch in a little restaurant on the shores of Loch Carron.

Day 4

To-day we depart from Inverness and make for Oban. We travel by Loch Ness and Fort William and visit a Whisky Distillery  en- route.

Days 5&6

 The gardens of Argyllshire are famous for their range and interest we spend the next two days visiting six of the best, run by both, private individuals and organisations such as the National Trust for Scotland. Included in our tour are Arduaine, An Cala and Ardmaddy Castle, as well as several others of equal interest.

Day 7






After a morning of shopping in Oban we journey eastwards across Scotland arriving at Cluny House garden on the banks of the River Tay at Aberfeldy. 


That night, our last, we spend at an Hotel near Dunkeld. Day 8 From Dunkeld we travel over the Devils Elbow and down Dee-side to our final garden and Castle at Crathes whose grandeur and formality make a fitting end to our garden tour.
